Montreal Falls is a surprisingly popular destination for how remote of an area it is located in.  In order to get to the falls, one must hike the mile long trail along the coast of Lake Superior.  The trail is moderately difficult as there are many roots and downed trees and the trail erodes frequently from the proximity to the coast.

There are two sets of falls at Montreal Falls.  The lower falls, which are encountered just off of the main trail, tumble down approximately 20 feet.  This elevation change is spread out over a decent distance with shallow pools interrupting the short drops.

Up river a little ways is the upper falls.  These falls are significantly more impressive with a height of approximately 30 feet.  The falls plunge directly into a pool.

Many fishermen utilize the pools surrounding the upper and lower falls in order angle for trout.
